What you may notice in our cruising log for this year is the complete absence of the "V" word - varnish. We have decided to replace the wooden caprails and handrails when we refit the pilot house. We'll replace the handrails with stainless steel and the caprails with some other, non-wood material (
RichLite is the current favorite). Although it's subject to change, there are some working plans on the Refit page.
If all goes well, we'll start this refit in 2012. Wish us luck! The original plan was to start in 2009, but we've now decided to make some comparatively small changes to our current living quarters to improve liveability in the near-term. Check back on the "Projects" page to see how we're doing....

SS Lettering
